Hi, I’m Kate.
My coaching journey started in 2019 on the Great Glen Way in the Scottish Highlands. Between numerous verses of “The Ants Go Marching” and complaining about sore feet with my sister, I had a lot of quiet time to reflect.
I consider myself a “reluctant reflector”. I’m most comfortable driving forward to action in high-energy settings. As a middle-schooler, I desperately wanted to be someone who journaled daily, but that is not how I’m wired.
While in Scotland, I accomplished something I never thought I could do - I hiked more than 70 miles through rain, when I was tired, and when I didn’t want to. And, I loved it. I loved knowing that I trained for something that mattered to me and saw it through. I loved being outdoors, which was unthinkable to me growing up.
Through this experience, I realized the impact of aligning habits, routines, and accountability with a goal. Reaching the “high land” wasn’t reaching the zenith, it was finding joy in reaching the next level, and then coming back down to have a rest and do it again.
This was when I fell in love with long-distance hiking and knew that my next step (pun intended) was becoming a coach and supporting others to uncover their true capabilities. Whatever your next step is, I look forward to grabbing our packs, prepping the gear, and doing the damn thing with you.
